about

Eccentric yet accessible, AcreFoot's Extraordinary Room traverses the cracked and disjointed terrain that lies between genres, conceptions, styles, and expectations while charting new compositional territory and bringing a clearer focus and more rigorous structure to the music.

With their second collection, AcreFoot makes it clear that sonic adventurism and experimentation are integral to their sound; even when adhering to more traditional pop-song forms (Amayadori, How Fool I Am), the rhythms, timbres, and harmonies are far from orthodox. Instead, the percussion, guitar, bass, voice, and woodwinds chirp, buzz, keen, whirl, and thump through verse, chorus, and verse, upending traditional pop expectations. Other pieces flow through more abstract territories, multi-layered grooves (Hira, Hira, Hira, White Fire), exotica (Pool of Light, Dream of Butterfly), and post-rock (Extraordinary Room, Sayonara). Extraordinary Room solidifies AcreFoot's musical identity, while leaving any and all possibilities open for the future.
